What is happening to Metal

What the hell is going on with the new bands coming out these past 2 - 3 years? Where have the clean and understandable vocals gone? The musicians are still heavy as fuck but, OH MY FUCKING GOD, vocals are coming out like garbage.

Let me explain. In the 80s, 90s and the early millennium we had vocals that were harmonised, easy to listen to and we could sing along with like The Scorpions, Slayer, Judas Priest, Monster Truck, Disturbed, Five Finger Death Punch and the list goes on. We could all go to a concert and actually sing along with the bands without having to pull up the lyrics on our phone browsers. But wow within the past 3 years more vocalists have hopped on this band wagon that shouldn't even be a band wagon. Those low guttural growls and unintelligible screams. Now don't get me wrong I do like some screams and growls like Arch Enemy, The Growler from Amaranthe, Killswitch Engage and Lamb of God but the reasoning why I like the vocals from these bands is I FUCKING KNOW WHAT THE WORDS THEY ARE SINGING ARE. I know it takes great talent to use your vocals to growl and scream but come on, enough is enough. The gutturals don't even sound good. I get it, you want to be in a band, the musicians needed a vocalist, but with vocals like that they should have just stayed an instrumental band because they are good and tight and together. Oh and gutturals are also an indication that you can't hold a note if your life depended upon it. So to all of you throat growlers and gut singer, learn an instrument and leave the singing to the professionals.
